Great Escape: St. Patty's Day Edition

After working hard for everyone else, let Patch find something for you to do for you. There's only one rule: No kids allowed.

Your teens are sleeping over their friend's house tonight. The grandparents volunteered to take the younger children to a movie Sunday afternoon. Your tweens are headed to the mall with a friend's parent. It's your time. Take it.

Each week, we'll tell you about one great idea to give you a much deserved break and maybe, just maybe have some fun or learn something new.

St. Patrick's Day is Thurs., March 17, but the party starts this weekend with many restaurants serving traditional Irish fare like Corned Beef and Cabbage (and don't forget all the yummy Irish-inspired drinks that bartenders come up with!)

Spend this weekend celebrating your Irish heritage (and even if you're not the slightest bit Irish, pretend you are!)

Be sure to hit up the local liquor stores like Anthony's or Crestwood for favorites like Bailey's Irish Cream, Jameson Irish Whiskey and of course, Guinness and make a quick stop at Dollar Tree for some inexpensive decorations and favors.

Visit the Christ Episcopal Church on Saturday for an all-you-can eat Corned Beef Supper or stop by the Olde Theater Diner on Sunday for a traditional Irish meal!

And don't forget to head to West Warwick at 1 p.m. on Sunday for the 52nd annual St. Patrick's Day Parade!
