Five Things You Need To Know Today, September 24

Today is Monday, Sept. 24. Here are five things you need to know:

 

 

Parks & Recreation Programs: Registration begins today for Parks and Recreation Fall Programs. Coventry residents wishing to register should stop by the Community Center's upstairs hall between 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Registration will continue Tuesday in the Parks & Rec office during normal business hours. See the attached PDF for a list of programs.

CPL Kindergarten Program: Today is the last day to register for the Coventry Public Library's program "Getting Ready for Kindergarten" for children ages 4 and 5 who will begin school in 2013. The first program will be held on Sept. 25 at 6:30 p.m. and will continue on the fourth Tuesday of each month through May 2013. Register at the library or by phone at 822-9012.

Greene Homestead Tours: The historic 1770 homestead of Revolutionary War General Nathanael Greene (50 Taft St., Coventry) is now open for tours. Today's visiting hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $5/adult, $3 child. Visit www.nathanelgreenehomestead.org for more info.

Canceled - Special Education LAC: Coventry's Local Advisory Committee (LAC) on Special Education scheduled for Sept. 26 has been canceled due to the religious holiday that day. The presentation will be rescheduled for a later date.
