Five Things You Need To Know Today, May 23

Today is Wednesday, May 23. Here are five things you need to know:

 

 

Senior Center Free Legal Clinic: The Coventry Senior Center will be sponsoring a free/sliding scale legal clinic today and appointments will be booked every half hour. If you are a low-income senior or disabled person and would like to have a free half hour consultation with The Rhode Island Center for Law and Policy you may call the main number at 822-9175.

Greene Library's Tales for Tots: The Greene Public Library (179 Hopkins Hollow Rd., Greene), will host Tales for Tots today and each Wednesday from 10:30-11:15 a.m. The program is for 3 and 4-year olds and promotes early literacy through stories, rhymes, finger plays, songs and movement.

Free Blood Pressure Screening: Avoid health complications by keeping your blood pressure in check! Hope Library (374 North Road, Hope) offers free blood pressure screenings on Wednesdays from 1:30-4:30 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.

LAC on Special Education: Coventry's Local Advisory Committee will be meeting tonight from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the School Administration Building (1675 Flat River Rd.). All meetings are open to the public and anyone interested in special education issues is welcome. See attached photo for agenda.

"Whistle Stop on Broadway" Tickets: The Newport Dinner Train Players will present "Whistle Stop on Broadway" at Nino's on Lake Tiogue on May 27 at 11:30 a.m. Tickets for the buffet lunch and show are $30/person and can be purchased by calling Laurie at 226-6950. Proceeds benefit the RI Chapter of the National MS Society.
