Five Things You Need To Know Today, June 6

Today is Wednesday, June 6. Here are five things you need to know:

CHS Class Day: The day has finally come for Coventry High School Seniors: The last day of high school...ever! Juniors and seniors will gather in the auditorium this morning to commemorate the graduation of the Class of 2012 and officially recognize the Class of 2013 as seniors! Graduation tickets for tomorrow night will also be handed out this morning, so make sure your senior is at school by 7 a.m.

Greene Library's Tales for Tots: The Greene Public Library (179 Hopkins Hollow Rd., Greene), will host Tales for Tots today and each Wednesday from 10:30-11:15 a.m. The program is for 3 and 4-year olds and promotes early literacy through stories, rhymes, finger plays, songs and movement.

Relay for Life: The Coventry Relay for Life will begin at Coventry High School at 4 p.m. on Friday and will stretch for 18 hours through Saturday. So far there are 31 teams that have raised over $44,000 for the American Cancer Association! There is still time to donate, register, start a team or join a team - every bit helps! Click here for more info or to register. It's time to kick cancer's butt once and for all!

Free Blood Pressure Screening: Avoid health complications by keeping your blood pressure in check! Hope Library (374 North Road, Hope) offers free blood pressure screenings on Wednesdays from 1:30-4:30 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.

Community Blood Drive: Save a life...or three by donating blood today! The RI Blood Center is holding a drive today in the cafeteria at Washington Oak Elementary School (801 Read Schoolhouse Rd.) from 3:30-7:30 p.m.

You should call the Greene library and recheck the story hour as they may have stopped for the summer.

Hi Emily, thanks for the concern. I've just called the library and they are currently still doing Tales for Tots. I'll check in once again after school has ended.
