Five Things You Need To Know Today, January 16

Meditation Presentation: Coventry Public Library will host the presentation, "Meditation, the Universe and You" this evening 7 p.m. Join Dr. Alan Post, a contributing author to Meditation: As Medication for the Soul, who will motivate you to explore your own "inner space". Call Jane at 822-9104 to register.

Free Blood Pressure Screening: Avoid health complications by keeping your blood pressure in check! Hope Library (374 North Rd., Hope) offers free blood pressure screenings on Wednesdays from 1:30-4:30 and 6-8 p.m.

CHS Band Fundraiser: On Jan. 19 from 4-8 p.m. at Olde Theater Diner (33 Sandy Bottom Rd.) ,Coventry High School band students will host a fund-raising dinner to help defray costs of the band field trips for the students. Tickets are $20 per person, and will include dinner, jazz band performances and the opportunity to enter a 50/50 raffle. To donate raffle items or gift certificates or for ticket information, e-mail chsbandfundraiser@gmail.com.

CHS Community Night: Coventry High School will host its Annual Community Night tonight from 6-8:30 p.m.. The event will allow current 8th graders and their parents to come to the high school and see the programs and extra-curricular activities that are offered. Men's Club Steak Fry: Today is the last day to reserve your spot at the Coventry Men's Club Steak Fry & Chicken Dinner on Jan. 18 at 7 p.m. A steak dinner will cost $12.99, chicken $10.99, with live music following your meal. Call 385-3536 for reservations.
