Today is Monday, Aug. 13. Here are five things you need to know:
Victory Day Closings: In honor of Victory Day, town offices including the Town Hall, Public Library and Department of Public Works will be closed. Trash collection will run on a one-day delay schedule for the week. Police and Fire services will run on an emergency basis, but records and tax offices will not be open. Be sure to call your local bank branch before heading out, as most banks observe the holiday also.

Greene Homestead Tours: The historic 1770 homestead of Revolutionary War General Nathanael Greene (50 Taft St., Coventry) is now open for tours. Today's visiting hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $5/adult, $3 child. Visit www.nathanelgreenehomestead.org for more info.
CLL Fall Ball Registration: Coventry Little League is now accepting registration for its 2012 Fall Ball program that begins August 20. Children ages 8 to 11 are eligible to participate. Cost is $ 40.00 per player or $75.00 for a family. Click here for registration info or see the attached PDF form.
