Coventry Teen Achieves Eagle Scout Rank

Ethan Spearman was recently honored along with four fellow Scouts.

Coventry resident Ethan Spearman was recently recognized for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout - the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scouting program

A special Eagle Court of Honor was held Saturday, Jan. 12 at the Armory in East Greenwich to recognize Spearman and four of his fellow Scouts of Troop 147 Quidnessett for their achievement. Andrew Nicastro, Peter Ouellette, Kiffin Ward and Adam Daglieri earned the honor alongside Spearman.

Honoring the group was Congressman James Langevin, State Senator James Sheehan, State Representative Doreen Costa, State Representative Lisa Tomasso, Town Council Presidnet Liz Dolan, School Committee Member John Boscardin and Father Andrew Messina of St. Francis de Sales Church– the troop's sponsor.

Also joining the quintet of Eagle Scouts was Troop 147's previous Eagle Scouts and Scoutmasters.

As part of his Eagle Scout Project, Spearman constructed a "Peace Garden" at Tiogue Elementary School and was recognized for his efforts during a dedication ceremony last June.
