Coventry Resident Arrested on Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Deliver
The offender is a Providence school teacher.
On Friday, Nov. 4 at approximately 4:30 p.m., Coventry Police detectives, K9, and patrol officers, along with West Warwick and Warwick detectives, executed a search warrant at 23 Jade Rd. after a two month long investigation.
Over 24 grams of cocaine were seized, along with over $1,000 in cash and suspected narcotics packaging material.
The resident and homeowner, Bruce Smith, 40, was arrested and subsequently charged with Posession of Cocaine with Intent to Deliver. He was held overnight at the Coventry Police station and arraigned before a bail commissioner on Saturday.
Smith was held without bail at the ACI until his appearance Monday morning at the Kent County Court House. Bail was set at $50,000 with surety.
Smith’s next court appearance is December 12, 2011
Smith is a teacher and wrestling coach at Gilbert Stuart Middle School in Providence.

Last time I checked this is the United States....people are innocent until proven guilty!!! It wouldn't be the first time Coventry PD jumped the gun!!

Well, "Phil". Generally when the cops investigate you for two months and have enough cause to gain a search warrant and they find THAT in your home, (did you see the photo?!?), then chances are you are guilty.

Hi Todd - Smith participated in a felony screening (a prearraignment conference) on Dec. 12. No additional updates regarding the case have been made available yet, but we'll keep you updated.
