Community Offers Multiple Options to Help Fire Victims
Several dinners and a donation collection have been organized to benefit the Hawkins family.
Coventry and surrounding communities have come together in support of a well-known and admired couple, Claude and Pauline Hawkins, who lost their Stuart Drive home and everything in it to a fire on Jan. 12. Pauline, a former Coventry Town Hall employee for many years, is currently recovering at Rhode Island Hospital after suffering major burns.
Spaghetti Dinner
A spaghetti dinner served by brethren from the Ionic, Manchester and Harmony Lodges will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 18 from 3-8 p.m. at Manchester Hall (585 Washington St., Coventry). The price of the dinner is $10 per person and there will be raffles of which all proceeds will go to the Hawkins.
Checks can be made payable to Grande Lodge of Rhode Island with the Memo "Central District Fundraiser" and should be mailed to Manchester Lodge, 585 Washington St., Coventry, RI, 02816.

Steak Fry
A steak fry will be held on Friday, March 2 at 7 p.m. at Club Jogues (184 Boston St., Coventry). Tickets are $20 per person and all proceeds will go to the Hawkins. For tickets and more information, call Joan Smith at the Coventry Tax Collector's Office (822-9164).
Donation Collection
The Coventry Town Hall (1670 Flat River Rd.), is accepting donations of household items, small appliances, toiletries, gift certificates, etc. to aid Claude and Pauline Hawkins. Donations can be dropped off Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Pickup can be arranged if needed by calling 822-9164.
