Oh what happened??? No more itemized call logs??? What's CCFD trying to hide??? Is it how they deliberately send unnecessary apparatus on calls to boost their call numbers??? Or is it how they routinely jeopardize the publics safety by refusing to work with neighboring departments that aren't affiliated with their union, even if it means having to wait longer for a rescue to arrive at your home when you need help??? If only the public knew how often this happens. I'd say it's time for some changes.

No apparatus responds to boost calls. Its nice to have trained manpower when needed.... not like some in town. West Warwick is right nex to the Harris station, I don't hear you complaining about them???? Whats your real agenda??? I think your still upset that the merge did not go your way.... I'm sure if it had this would not be a hot topic.

Im not a West Warwick taxpayer so I could care less what they do, and truth be told, the merge didn't go ANYONES way.... The only ones who have benefited from it are the CCFD firefighters... The taxpayers got screwed, spending has increased every year since the merge occurred and the district is now severely in debt... Numbers don't lie. The upcoming board meeting should be interesting.

People like yourself hate to see progress, As far as benefiting, the people of the town benefit knowing they are getting trucks on the road with qulified individuals without wondering if and when trucks are going to get out. Plus the safety of all fire fighters should not be jepordized. The only reason the budget increased is because of a new peice of appparatus that was needed which is a loan that is being paid over time as any other would be. Why go backwards???? Its only going to kill someone, or delay care for those who need it. Remember time is dead cells, and dead cells mean irreversable damage or death to a pt ( thats a fact ). As far as fire apparatus, I wnt to know there is someone there or going to be there who can and knows how to do the job when needed. Not a truck with one man who may be a ff who may or may not be able to do the job. Myself and my family as well as the rest of the town deserve the best possible service possible, and having trucks manned and stations manned allows for such. If you research I'm sure you will see the budget is compatable with other depatments CCFD size. Also when are people going to realize Coventry is the Biggest town in the country.... that in itself should be telling you something.... and the population is only getting bigger. As far as WW is concerned your thery of bypassing stations and stuff falls short, CCFD is seperate from the other town departments and should service thier own. No differnt from WW being next door to Harris.

As far as the upcomming board meeting is concerned, I hope the CCFD residents realize a cut in service could jepordize the loss of life and property. Its sad to think that you are willing to put peoples lives and loss of property on the line. I hope you and your fellow supporters are are prepaired willing to take the heat when and if someone loses it all do to your actions?????

why cant they just have one manned firestation every ten miles? Do they really need one in harris, then arnold road, then hopkins hill? Im sure there are others that are very close to each other too. Must be easier to get to each station for the weekly barbecue.

John Doe times change. Unions take over. It's not just about new equip, its minimum manning, OT ect for workers that are paid pretty well, I get that. I also believe we need to keep it in check as much as we can or we will risk turning into Cranston.
The issues I have are with Anthony, CFD at the moment I drive by there all the time on my way to work and I see FF's in the squad bay smoking or sitting in office chairs half in and out of the building smoking. First off you need to be 50 from the building to smoke and from what I hear they smoke on the second floor. I cant prove that but I do have 2 pics from my cell phone showing them smoking in the squad bay.
Second issue: What happend to the FF you got caught having sex with a Kent worker in the rescue. Cote said he was going to fire him. what ended up happening??

Your not talking about Central Coventry you are talking about Anthony, Two different Departments. I think some people get confused. Cov res 58 is just another political hater.... I'm suspecting has an agenda for all this babble.

I also thought it was against policy for a FF to smoke because of the job related risk of cancer. I know of 3 departments that have that policy.
Also is there a maximum weight you can be to be a FF??

Coventry Voter, Unions don't set the distance a station can be from another, thats a standard set by the ISO or Insurance Underwriters Organization. The insurance rates are determined by a whole bookful of standards including distance between stations, how many men on a truck, water tank size on truck etc. As for the weight...there isn't but there should be.... Smoking? Again, there isn't but there should be also. I know a lot of Depts ban smoking on and off duty.
