im sure glad that we have firefighters, but if you come to west warwick/coventry, you will see one fire station in artic, about a mile away is another at intersection of main/wakefield st. Not even a quarter mile away is the one on main st across from cumberland farms, and from there about two miles away there is harris fire station. All fully functioning fire stations. Now that to me is a big waste of money. In a two mile radius we have four fire stations. I understand that they have to go out and make it look like they are needed so they wont get their station closed down, but this is a little ridiculous. On the 4th of july my neighbor lit a 12 inch box on fire because it had all used fireworks in it, not even 5 minutes later, here comes a big firetruck with a full fire crew jumps out, stabs the box, tears it all up, then hoses it down. A 12 inch box.I know a great way to help the economy, get rid of all the useless fire departments.
