CCFD: Special Master Sends Revised Letter to Residents
Central Coventry Fire District Special Master Richard Land has issued the attached letter, a revised version of the March 11 mailing, to residents of the district, in regards to the upcoming March 26 Special Meeting.
The revised letter to residents was mailed on Thursday, March 21, 2013.
Also attached is the Superior Court order from Judge Brian P. Stern, directing Land to send the new letter to residents.

Looks like the other districts will be picking up the tab for your Fire/EMS service. Hope all the no voters at least say Thank You while the rest of the Town gets screwed

Why would that be?
The CCFD area will be spilt up and each department will gain that areas tax paying revenue.

correct gunslinger. dont forget that while we pay them our fire tax dollars, we will also have a court directed tax levy to pay the 3.3million in debt.

Another thing I haven't heard...who picks up the payments for the fire hydrants and street lights if the no votes win???? Kind of a lot to dump on the other districts isn't it???? I

Not a lawyer
but if CCFD closes I think the assets including trucks & property.. are sold off to pay down the debt. If so i wonder how much the debt would shrink.

People...we got what we wanted or what most of us did. The board and upper management that put here are gone. Lets not have to rely on other dept. what if anthony and hh voters say no to srnding their rescues. We are screwed. Lets pass the budget get a new board. And move on. Cause i will tell you this as would im buddy in anthony distr. will . If one of our kids gets hurt and we wait 15-20 min for a rescue. I will sue the district for millions as i hope u would too. That is unless u say no then u have to look in the mirror when a loved one dies cause of your stubborness. I pray that never happens to anyone.

I had heard thru the grapevine that mr assalone supports the budget now????...does anyone know....if so how come there wasnt any reminder ads like when he tried to dhut it down.

So our tax rate is doubling! Land's letter makes you think it's a reduction and the sky will fall if we vote "No". Hope Coventry voters show the CCFD and land that fear tactics and deception won't work. The whole consolidation was supposed to save us money. Time to dissolve the district. VOTE NO!

John Assalone is supporting a yes Vote. I heard that after seeing concessions made by firefighters & and that the board Resigned plus the master has a 5 year plan. If he is Voting YES We All should follow him. John does his research . So I am voting YES

You're voting yes because John Assalone is voting yes.....very responsible.....John would never do anything self serving and always has the communitiy's best interests at heart. Thinking like that got us in this situation. Vote yes or vote no but do it because you know the facts.

The board resigned but can run again after this vote. We do not have enough people interested in running so the same bobbleheads can get back in.Why would we be excited about a secrative 5 year plan? We know it means huge increases every year and so far paying Land about $1,000.00 a day. Concessions from the FF are only for this tax year.

As odd as this sounds, if there is a no vote to the budget, can the town intervene with the surplus budget, reducing the need to a) increase fire tax rates or b) forcing a liquidation of current assets? The intention being to dissolve the CCFD and pay off any outstanding debt.

The voters in this fire district voted the right way. You were fed up with the proposed increase - not competitive!! Now, why not work with your legislative leaders and push to have this thing go out to competitive bid - out source the fire protection. They do exist - and they may even pick up the local firefighters! Because the management structure in the CCFD is gone, the firefighters contract is also gone. They may try to sell you that it is not but when a business goes into bankruptcy, the contract become null and void. Not blaming the firefighters, the Chief should have been fired years ago, that's where your problem was. The voters/taxpayers still have an edge on this if you keep your heads and work together!!
