Candidate Profile: Carl Mattson Jr.
Take a few minutes to learn about the Republican candidate for the District 2 Town Council seat.
Carl Mattson Jr. has been a Coventry resident for almost 20 years. He is a graduate of CCRI, Bryant University and Johnson & Wales University.
Mattson serves on the Board of Directors for the CCRI Alumni Association, Pawtuxet River Authority and Pawtuxet Valley Chamber of Commerce. He has over 20 years experience in the energy industry and is a member of the American Solar Energy Society, Audubon Society of RI, and several other Chambers of Commerce.
Mattson has been the owner of Blarney Stone Energy in Coventry since 2007 and is knowledgable in budgeting and management and believes in doing everything in an honest manner.
"I believe in the environment, I believe in business contacts and I believe in education," said Mattson when asked what topics he feels strongly about.
If elected on April 5 to the District 2 Council seat, Mattson hopes to achieve a continued path of low taxes for Coventry residents, community involvement and a sense of fiscal responsibility and accountability on the part of the Town Council.
