Sherman, George F., Sr. 75, of Coventry, passed away April 30, 2012 at Kent County Hospital. He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Joyce (Ellinwood) Sherman. Born in East Greenwich, he was a son of the late Charles and Antonia (Rioux) Sherman.

Mr. Sherman retired after 36 years from A. Saugy's Inc.

He was a loving husband and devoted and caring father.

Besides his wife he is survived by his children: Susan A. Lamoureux, Linda M. Moses, Mary E. Dawson and George F. Sherman, Jr. and his wife Debra; grandchildren: D.J., Erin, Corey, Justin and Alexandra. He was the father-in-law of the late Louis Lamoureux.

His funeral will be private. Calling hours: Thursday 5-8 p.m. at the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greewnwich.
