COOLEN, DOUGLAS F., SR., age 88, of Nottingham Place, Sherwood Valley, Coventry, died on Friday, May 25, 2012, at Coventry Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

He was the husband of Harriet A. (Panichas) Coolen. Born in Portland, Maine, a son of the late James F. and Doris W. (Booten) Coolen, he lived in Coventry for the last 20 years.

He served with the U.S. Naval Reserve and was a former automobile sales manager at Inskip Motors as well as the former Norwood Chevrolet, both in Warwick. He was later employed at Laura's Auto in Coventry, retiring in 2007.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, James A. Coolen of Warwick and Douglas F. Coolen, Jr. of Coventry; a brother, Robert J. Coolen of Warwick; three grandchildren and one great-grandson. He was the brother of the late Agnes Papa and William Coolen.

His funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 31, at 10 a.m. in the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick. Visiting hours are Wednesday 4-7 p.m. Burial will be in Pawtuxet Memorial Park, Warwick.
